The history of Yugioh Legends.....
September 2002
One day at school in seventh grade my friend told me that there was a clas were you could do anything you want with computers, and i was like what so i just had to get into the class. The next year i signed up for computer arts. It started off well, it was the frist time i had ever heard of adobe photoshop. At the time the version was 6.0, so we had regular projects try and make this try and make that ect. One day our project was to design a website with Adobe Page Builder. I had no idea what i was doing!, I thought to my self there had to be a easir way. Im a vary lazy person so i thoght i could cheat the teacher and find a free site and say i designed it. Well i came across tripod site builder, and i thought i could just get a free layout there but i was wrong. You had to design your site they only gave a templet so i just went along with it. I signed up and at the time a was into yugioh so what eles to do was make it a yugioh site. Thus the creation of Yugioh Legends. I designed the way the front page looked and i was enjoying it. I atualy tryed working hard on it and stuff not like anything else ive had ever worked on. So i thught "hey i can do this!" thats when i started making pages and trying to make it look as good as i could.
October 2002
Everything was rolling i had pages done the front page was decent enough and it was ready to luanch. October 17 2002 was the day Yugioh Legends luanched. I thougt i would be getting 1000 hits like all the other yugioh sites, but of course i was wrong it toook alot more then a couple of pages to atraqct people and it took time. That was the day i got into it this was going to be it i wanted a popular website people would enjoy.
January 2003
i had been making pages redesign the front page and waiting for people to find my site. thats when things were starting to get good. one day i came home i went to my site and saw that i got 80 hits! we all know thats nothing but to me that showed i had done somthing people acutualy went to my site! it inspried me so much. i had to make the site better. I make a banner for th site with adobe and thats when i got mor einto the gfx side of web design. I wanted people to see what i could do more then just writing content. That was the i got into graphic design. So i started designing my own stuff. and the site just started growing.
February 2003
One day i came home and checked my site as usual and saw that i had 100 hits i was amazed! i got 100 hits and it was the best feeling. I wanted more of it and the only way was to get more hits. Thata when i ventured into top sites lists. My frist top site i registered for was Ranklist Top Yugioh, with was and prob. still is the top ranking system for yugioh sites to see how good your site really was.
April 2003
After 5 months with the site going i was getting tryed of it, only about 100 hits a day for a long time. Then the day came. I came from school and checked my site, check my ranking on top yugioh and i admedetly went to page eight thats were i had been since the day i signed up. but i wasnt on that page. i was bummed i thought i had droped even more and was ready to give it up. so i checked page 10, wasn't there, page 11 wasnt there, last page,page 12, wasnt there. for sure i had been droped for beeing ranked so low. but it came to my head maybe i had moved up and not down. so i went to page 7 not there page 6 not there page 5 not there page 4 not there, i was felling so exited maybe i was on page 3! i went to page 3 and was not there, i was thinking alright i had been droped theres no way i was on page 2 and i was right!! i was one page 1!!! ranked #25! the last place on page #1. What i had worked for the whole time i was working on ygol. i had acheaved what i wanted to. poeple acutualy voted for my site. so i had to return them with somthing.
May 2003
I was looking to somehow repay the peple voting for me. yet i did not know what to do. thought and thought nothing came till i relized that what people ment by layout they were talkign about the way there sie looked. i was so used to templet being what i knew as what your site look like. So i just had to make my site have a layout, but i had no clue what to do. So i posted that i needed a layout and someone responded. His name was JCBOYCOOL some of you may have known him as the webmaster of Kaibas Battle City. He made me a layout for a card it was a good card at that at the time. So he made me a layout like the one he had. when he gave it to me he said you need to upload this and make changes to all the links and any other html you want ot change. I was all html WHO?!? i had no idea what html was and was stupmed agian. I just had to some how make this work and i had no intention and sending him ore stuff do put in all the links and stuff. So thus began my journy into html.
June 2003
It was summer time witch gave me 3 full months to learn html and make my site look good. So i tryed to learn html after ready a whole bunch of stuff on how to right links and stuff i got used to it, i had to copy and paste alot but i was starting to be able to write vary easily since i was copy and pasting it so much i just remembered how to write it. So after about 2 weeks of learnign how to use it for layouts i was reqady to customize the layout that ws made for me. I put in all the links all the other html and luanched Yugioh Legends version 1.0. Nobody beleaved me at school tht i had done what i had done not even people i talked to on the internet. all they said was there was no way i learned how to do al th stuff i did in 2 weeks. It came to me that maybe i just got a gift to do this. i new more about html then the guy who made me the layout after only 1 month learning it. Everybody thougt i was using someone else to do the work and it was just my hard working coming into play. Afte ronly 1 month using it i was ready to design my own site.
July 2003
I tryed to design one with tables and colors and it was a total desaster. i was so sad how could it not work i knew how to make links and tables but it just came out all wrong i was so sad that all my efforts wrre not good enough. i had to learn more and kept the same layout i had up and switched to angelfire were they had a html editor witch made it alot easiar but still did not help me figure out how to desing a layout. But i wanted a new layout so bad so i just went to find some free anime layouts to use and i can acrss one and used it studyed it and learned what was doing what and how thigns were being placed int the html. after about 4 months wiht the same layout and just redesigning th top banner to make it look differnt it was time to desing my own layout.
August 2003
I had worked so hard and designed my own layout for the site. the summer was coming to an end it was time to get ready for high school were i had vary good photoshop skills html skills and webdesign skills. It was time to show what i had at high school. I soon figured out that i spending over 14 hours a day working on the site there was no way ever ever doing this during the school year so i quit the site and gave it to my co webbie mickey witch is now the head webmaster. i let him have it and said that i just could not go on. He ran the site and i improved my skills. flash, adobe, html, design skills all were at a vary high level. I going to show people at my school my skills.
September 2003
I was at school and everhing was going good i had started my own graphic design busness Studio 23 witch i stil run today. i was designing layouts for ygol still and many other anme sites. I found my self going back to ygol alot and checking stsa and stuff. That was my baby what i had worked on so hard for so such i long time i felt vary gulty. I had to do somthng about it. I design everything for ygol. and found my self just as much working with it as much as mickey. So i asked mickey to make me part of the staff not as webmaster but just as the creator / founder over looking what happens and what i think is best for the site and leting mickey chose. i helped bring in staff and things were rolling again.
January 2004
After a couple of months with the site agian i was spending alot of time with the site designing layout gfx and heloing around the site. Now i felt i had to do more i designed version 2.0 qand everything was going good till a majoir error was found and re had to revamp a whole new layout version 3. Mickey liked it but i knew i could do somuch better. So i look my time and came the time to tell mickey wha i was doing i keept it under raps for a long time i had designed version 3 and four and did not even tell him about this layout i was working i wanted to surprise him.
Fubruary 2004
February 14 i told mickey what i had been working one and he was just as trilled as me version 3.1 what you see in front of you was in its final stage of coding. I told him about it like 20 min before i was doe with it i showed him and there was bo bought that this was the layout! We released it February 14 2004 qand it was off as you can see it is one of the if not the best yugioh layout out there. So i designed the network and mickey put up a forum and things were looking good witch bring us to today were you have yugioh legends version3.1 with a sick forum a sick netowork and a sick layout.
Present
We have a great staff and site here now ready to be lifted t the bes yugioh site on the net. other site are selling out selling ther stuff and not stiking with it. We are! and we are never leaving. we are here to serve you the fans all that we can in the yugioh community and we are never selling out and never leaving the fans becuase thats what were all about giving you the lastest news and sickest gfx to go along with it and we hope that your here to support us as much as we support the ygo community and you!
Future
We hope to be the last great ygo sites left. From the time of 100,000 sites to the last great yugioh site on the net to give the community eveyhing till the end of its time, things never las forever thats why we will go when its time to come witch will always make us the legend of all yugioh sites.... YUGIOH LEGENDS!
