YGOL Forums: Spammers/bots - YGOL Forums

I don't know if some are as aware as others, but there are several bots going around posting links on the forums and within the Image Gallery. If you see any of this happening...By ALL means, contact an Admin or Moderator and/or make use of the 'Report' button. While there is less activity, that does not warrant them the right to litter their filth on our forums. I have received a couple today and will take care of those, I appreciate those who are helping.

Funny you've made this topic just when I had thoughts about whether I should disregard my resolve upon cessation in this everyday schedule check-ban-delete till I receive a response on what more can be done about it.
Several notes about it were sent to Mickey some time ago, no echo from the other side up to this day.

Raports won't add much information as Image Gallery receives a regular spam every day (check last comments).
When I started banning their IPs it seemed to cause their activity to slow down...But since they received more attention, they reacted appropriately so the current results are as if I had never touched the ban buttom for their case.
There has to be done more than that, although that doesn't necessarily have to be within our competence.
I would at least like to know if there is, seeing or being able to do one final effective action would be at the height of my wishes.

Whoever made Image Galley...they need to make a mass-deleting thing x.x;.
But it kinda sucks to see all those links :x

Simple ticking off "guests" from those who can see or comment in Image Gallery would do the trick if yet some functions are possible.

And even if we were to take it into cosideration that will not solve the problem. Assuming members agreed to it (and agreement of all who have this displeasure of being 'favoured' would be extremely hard if not impossible), spammers will always find a place for leaving traces of their visit. Getting rid of the whole Gallery could as well entail deletion of other parts of the forum... Not a bright perspective.
I am ready to delete all the comments one by one, provided someone will take a proper care to ensure there won't be new ones.

Guests can no longer see the gallery.

Namie and Immortality. I have moved you girls into same admin group as me with the mini admin group just removed. (easyer then changing your acp permissions) So you have full access to acp (also wasnt sure if some stuff you could use that I thought u could but couldn't etc)

Edit after spoting that messanger started to 'yell': <chuckle> That's quite an improvement. It seems that suddenly capacity of my PM Box got at least 50% smaller with the result that now it's overloaded.
Seems this could be a reason and my accussations would be invalid. If that's the case, I apologise.
