To answer ur questions in order:
1) 180x180 is the size of the avatar that most ppl on this forum use. As an example look at my avatar and that is 180x180
2)abstract and grunge are image styles. I cant really explain it in words so I'll leave that for some gfx person who know about these things.
3) When the designers ask for pictures they are asking for the images to use in ur avatar/sig. U need to post the URL of the pic u wanted them to add in ur request. As an example u would put the URL(s) right below the text part of the request and after the URL(s), clarify any specifics about ur avatar that u want created. However, its from my knowledge, the less specific u r, the quicker and more pleased u will be with the result. This is due to not limiting the imagination and creativity of the designer and letting them do what they do best.

Now, the only thing I need help is on is about the style....what grunge and abstract mean?
So if anyone can answer that question then I'll be done....

Anyway, to clear things up these dimensions (100x100, 1024x768, 180x180, 1280x960, in general YxZ) are the sizes of an image expressed in pixels. The thing with expressing sizes in pixels is that different monitors have different screen resolutions, so sizes can vary :/. But in general the average resolution is 72px/ inch. That means 100px are equivalent to approx. 3.5 cm.

100x100 is a square avatar with 100px each side.

Ok, Katie, in signature/avatar making the simple, no-effects style is kinda old-fashioned unless the avi/sig itself directly requires it *looks at her own sig*
So the main 2 other styles adopted are grunge and abstract. Abstract (which kinda explains itself), consists of *mainly* the background of the sig/avi being created of non-specific shapes, designed not to ilustrate a certain idea throught direct image(such as the picture of a chair...or a car would) but to suggest the idea by indirect shapes. So it is not plain white, or plain black...

Grunge refeers to adding an old/rugged style to the artwork.
Also, the GFX maker may choose to add magic/glow, or any additional effects to the sig/avatar.

180x180 is more a avatar size if you ask me ^^

Yea, that's right.Avatars are usually sqare and their sizes are expressed accordingly. For example, go to "Your Controls" and under "Avatar Settings" you'll find that the max. avatar size permitted on YGOL is 150x150 px.

Signatures sizes can range a lot, but they always are rectangular. The height matters a lot, so that it doesn't take much of the board's space. Usually sigs have max. 150-180 px height, while the width can be from 300 to 600.

Okay..... so how big would the signature be if the height was 150 and the width was like 300...would it be small?

Or how big would the signature be if the height was 170 and the width was 400?

Man....I really don't know much about all this signature stuff

I believe that the max size of an signature is 180x500. Might be 600 but no larger than that.

Your current 'Marik Fan' signature is 600 x 76 pixles (aka 600 pixles wide, 76 tall). Shadow's 'shadow' signature is 500 x 100 pixles. My current 'hush' signature is 365 x 164 pixles.

yes it does... so then 363x163 would be a bit smaller from Dakura Deomon's signature, right?
Oh and one more thing, are the images I found for my signature too big?

Yes your sig would be a little bit smaller then Dakura's and your pictures are fine, perhaps a little bigger would have been even better.

Cause the bigger the picture is the more you can work with it and the better you can shrink it. At least that's what people told me ^^

Yay...I finally filled out all the information needed... I am very thankful to all of you that helped me understand of all this... ....Now the information needed for someone to make my signature...is filled out ....so what do I do next??

Yes, but instead of waiting you could always PM one of this forum's GFX artist just ask them and copy your sig information into your PM.

To see who you could PM search the GFX forum and you can see who do GFX and you can 'choose' someone who you would like to make it.

It's not sure however if they will make it but with a PM you get most of the time a direct answer so you know something.

Maybe, but I'm not in that of a hurry to get my signature made...I'm very paitent so that's not a problem for me....
