This is EXTREMELY hard to answer straight off as it depends on what type of games you like. Well, I own both a psp and a ps2, and although i have had my ps2 for alot longer than my psp, i STILL find it better than a psp. The psp gave me enjoyment for only a month, this could be due to the expense of all the new games! I think a ps2 is much better than a psp in that the graphics is alot better, and there is currently alot more gaming choice for your age. eg if you like driving games theres gt4, or tekken 5 for fighting games....Psp is limited in the games and some of them are really stupid....Also even though your family doesnt play video games, im sure your friends do! so having a ps2 is great for parties with the add-ons such as eye-toy,singstar and guitar hero. So overall I think you should buy a ps2...although when i just thought about it....maybe you can wait a few months and buy a ps3 instead><

Altough the PSP is new... It depends...

The PS2 has a large game collection... the psp doesn't...
The PS2 has better graphics... Altough PS3 is also coming out...

The PSP has new games that are realy new and you can play them anywere... So it depends.

I'd have to day that it depends on what you want. I personally like the PS2, but who knows the PS3 might be better. But it will lack the assortments of games to chose from.

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason so few engage in it. Ενάντια στη θέλησή μου, στέκομαι εκτός από την αντανάκλασή μου.
Rest in peace Dakura, you will be missed by many but not forgotten.

I think a PS2 is better than a PSP because of the more variety of games available in a PS2 than a PSP. Also personally the thing about a PSP is the size of the screen. Camparing it to the size of the TV the enjoyment you can get is alot more than on a PSP screen which is small and you have to focus too hard. But PSP can be entertainig when you can use it like an MP3 or MP4 player for music purpose and also when you go on a trip away from home you can play with your PSP to entertain yourself while your goen. But I would still prefer you to buy a PS2 but if you have enough money to buy both then I say you not to buy none of them and wait for PS3 to come out and buy that which would be way better than a PS2 and PSP.

PS2 BECAUSE if u carried around psp, you might get robbed, and in ps2 you get a lot of games , and in psp, you might ran out of power

PS2, this way your loading time is shorter, no power shortages, and you can put it on a very large plasma screen TV!

If i were in your situation, i would definitely buy a PS2, because of its multifunctionality of being both cd/dvd player and a games console and the fact that you have a greater selection of games. But personally at this time, and if you can afford it, i would just wait and save up for a PS3, but i'd never buy it straight after it comes out, too expensive :S

+ at the rate at which technology is evolving, there is not doubt that the price of it will drop significantly over time like what happened to the PS2.

True but the price will still be much greater than the X-box 360 or the Nintendo Wii. The PS3 is going to take a big hit due to the new Blueray drives, I really can't see how they will pull it off. So if your going to wait do some research and get a good console rather than the PSP.

YEha but limited games are available on a PSP and secondly its really expensive the accessories. I would sugget to buy a ps3 because it would be better.

I love my ps2 just because of the fact that I can hook it up to a bigger tv if I wanted too.
I am a proud fan of 102.1 THE EDGE!

I'd have to say Ps2...cuz, there are so many games available for you to choose from...and Ps2 you can play DVDs on....so it's like getting a game/dvd player system.... <_< I would know, cuz I own a Ps2 (And I love it!)

ps2 because if there is someone with you, you have a t.v so it would be easier for them to watch too

There won't b any much new games released for PS2 at the end of 2007.
There's still a lot of PSP games in production though.
But Rather than buying PSP , buying Wii or PS3 would b better.
