Although Brandon Heat's topic was closed, the idea on a more broad scale does make a nice topic provided flammers can behave in a civilized and reasonable mannor. Hopefully it shall challange not only the skill of deck creators, but also the creativity of those that would like to see unique (but hopefully still useable) deck types.
The idea of the topic is simple. If you have a deck idea that you would like to see a reality, submit your ideas and politely request that somebody on the forum builds it. You will need to specify if you wish for the deck to be compeditive or fun, advanced or traditional format, as well as if you wish for OCG or TCG (Japanese or English). Also if this is real life and your card collection is limited, you may wish to state that and ask that deck builders keep the deck cheap to nuy/obtain.
There is a few rules that will need to be kept in mind, to help ensure things don't get out of hand.
1. Please do not make a post requesting 10 different decks. 1 or 2 requests at a time is perfectly acceptable, any more and it becomes overwealming. If you can see a lot of requests and no replies, you may wish to wait until a later date to ask.
2. If somebody responds to a request and posts something horrible, behave in a civilized mannor. Whether this involves posting a better version, making deck fixes to the one suggested or simply pointing out a few of the flaws of the deck, there is no need to behave rudely and irrationally. If they respond to your critism irrationally, that is a different story.
3. If the response to your request is not to your liking, simply (and calmly) state why. Whether the reason is that you don't have (and can't get) 'such and such' or you feel the responder has failed to stay true to the requested theme, like with a signature request, chances are the creator will be able to try again in order to satisfy.
4. Normal deck-fixing forum rules apply.
Veterans are of course more then welcome to challange the mind of other veterans by posting some rather interesting deck challanges. As for me, I am curious to see how one would go about trying to build a TCG deck containing no monsters whatsoever (cards like scapegoat, brain control, ect are allowed as they are spells). Advanced format, unlimited card pool, no urgancy of course. Theme up to the builder, as there are several possiblities that may work with the idea. Obviously a casual deck.

Since this is becoming a problem, I'm going to clarify some things.
1) Your deck must have at least 40 cards
Have a legal deck. None of this, "I'm going to post 25 cards and have everyone else fill out the rest."
Take the time to actually construct your deck. If you're not going to spend that time, then don't bother posting your deck in the first place.
2) Clarify what banlist you're obeying
Whether you're obeying the current banlist (which you should for your information), the previous banlist, the Traditional banlist, or just being a complete ###### and ignoring the banlist entirely, inform people.
This clarifies some issues and ensures you get the right kind of fixes.
Note that if you don't say anything, your deck is assumed to be of the current banlist, so no worries.
3) Have an organized deck structure
There is nothing more annoying than to try to help a person, and you see that their deck is posted in such a jumbled manner that rather make heads or tails of it, you just walk away.
Seperate your deck into:
Monsters
Spells
Traps
Whether you wish to seperate Monsters into Tributes and Non-Tributes is your decision.
Next, indicate the amount of each card that is in your deck. There are an infinite number of ways to do this.
Here's a few notations, each representing the same set of cards:
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 D.D. Warrior Lady
1 Sangan
3 Giant Rat
3 Nimble Momonga
1 D.D. Assailant
2 Exiled Force
1 Injection Fairy Lily
1 Treeborn Frog
1 Morphing Jar
Breaker the Magical Warrior
D.D. Warrior Lady
Sangan
Giant Rat
Giant Rat
Giant Rat
Nimble Momonga
Nimble Momonga
Nimble Momonga
D.D. Assailant
Exiled Force
Exiled Force
Injection Fairy Lily
Treeborn Frog
Morphing Jar
~ Breaker the Magical Warrior
~ D.D. Warrior Lady
~ Sangan
~~~ Giant Rat
~~~ Nimble Momonga
~ D.D. Assailant
~~ Exiled Force
~ Injection Fairy Lily
~ Treeborn Frog
~ Morphing Jar
Do it as you please. Just make it clear what is in your deck and the number of each card in your deck.
Oh, and use PROPER GRAMMAR FOR YOUR CARDS.
I cannot stress this enough. Nothing is more appaling to one willing to fix your deck then seeing chaotic mess of punctuation and grammar that is your deck.
If you can't find the proper name or how to spell your card, then find out. You have search engines at your disposal.
If you're posting an OCG card, provide the card effect. Chances are very high that no one has any inkling of what on earth it does. You don't have to translate the Japanese for the card name, merely provide the card effect in English in a clear manner.
4) Listen to advice
If you're not going to listen to advice from other people, don't bother posting the deck.
You might as well have kept your idea to yourself, and not have wasted the time of other people in this forum, those of which took the time to fix your deck.
If a fix sucks, and you know with absolute conviction that it does suck, then sure, ignore it. However, state the reason why it sucks.
If a fix appears that you don't like, then state your reasoning. If your reasoning happens to suck, then someone competent will likely come along, explain the holes in your reasoning, and also illuminate the correct path for you to pursue with your deck.
At that point, listen to the fix. Don't continue on a tirade on how you are right, as chances are that you are wrong.
From experience, I will tell you the typical reaction of your unskilled player to good advice:
1) N00b posts horrible deck.
2) Good player #1 says deck sucks because of [Set of Good Reasons].
3) N00b says that deck worked for [Set of Stupid Reasons].
4) Good player #2 criticizes n00b for [Set of Reasons why the N00b's logic sucks].
5) N00b retaliates using [Horrible Logic, some inane example, or whatever].
6) Good player #1 and #2 state [Reasons why N00b's previous statement was sucked].
7) Process continues until n00b is squashed.
Now, you can prevent all that by listening to fixes.
I'm not saying that everyone follows this set of reactions; I'm merely stating that from experience, this is how unexperienced players react to such advice.
Be prepared to accept that maybe your deck does suck. You're not perfect. None of us was good when we started. Good players sucked at some point along the way. Don't worry about it. But have the humility and the guts to accept that your deck sucks, and that you need help. There is nothing wrong about this. For the contrary, in fact, it demonstrates that you have character and a good personality. You earn friends, and better aid that way. Take that as a hint.
5) The anime is not right, period
Although some of my peers would frown upon the my set of following statements, as they are somewhat restrictive, I find it necessary.
The anime doesn't present you with an image of reality. Anime decks do not work, period. They work because the producers of the show have the power to allow their characters to draw the card they need at the exact time it is needed. That is the reason situational garbage decks like Yuki Judai's, Yami Yugi's, and more work in the anime.
This does not translate into real life. You do not have protagonist powers. You do not have the ability to draw whatever card you please. Going to sites and taking the card list of anime character's decks, card for card, does not work.
I'm not saying that you can't make character decks. Go ahead and make character decks if you so please. I'm just saying that if you take the deck of an anime character, card for card, then it fails miserably. Use some initiative and make it better. It's not that hard.
Oh, and if you ever spurn a fix with the reasoning that, "[Insert Anime Character] used this card", then don't bother. It's a stupid reason, and all you will do is make yourself look like a colossal idiot.
ANYWAY
That's all for now.
If I think of anything else that needs to be put in place, I'll put it here.
These rules aren't hard to follow. Just use your common sense.

First of all, for everyone who doesn't already know, OCG means Online Card Game or Official Card Game. It is basically the cards used in japan that have not been released to the rest of the world.
Now, if you are using OCG cards in your decks, then please state there effects, types, stats, etc. at the bottom of your decklist before posting.
Not everyone can speak japanese, nor does everyone play OCG. This is very helpful to alot of people.
Thank you.

Now, most of you know why you're here.
You're posting decks here because those big, bad vets in the competitive section will flame your deck into oblivion. Right?
Well, that isn't a bad thing. Know that the standards you have to reach in the competitive forum are very high. If you can't reach those standards, then posting here is the alternative.
However, I've looked at this forum, and generally, I've seen it range from people posting half-decent decks, to others posting things that your seven-year old relative could develop.
Now, I'm not blaming anyone for lack of skill. Everyone, at some point, was a n00b at this game and sucked. Everyone thought BEWD was a godly card and should be run in every deck. Don't worry about it.
In any case, I'm going to give you a quick set of pointers that will likely improve your decks, make you think more about your decks, and get you some better help.
The better your deck is, the better help it is going to get.
Note that none of these pointers are binding in any fashion whatsoever. Post whatever deck you please. I'm simply going to point out some things that will enable you to make your deck work better and make you a better deck builder.
In any case, onto the points themselves.
1) Have a deck of 40-45 cards
Any higher is asking for a less effective deck. Why? Let's take a lesson in statistics. The higher your deck count, the smaller the possibility that you'll draw the card you need at any given moment, and the smaller the possibility that you can make your deck's strategy work.
Yes, there are cases when you can go over the limit, but for the purposes of the decks that are posted here, 40-45 cards is an acceptable range.
2) Include your staples
Staples are cards that have effects that are good in practically every deck.
Sure, there is the odd deck out there that doesn't need some of these cards, but in ninety percent of the decks you have, you'll include the following cards:
- Breaker the Magical Warrior
- Sangan
- Graceful Charity
- Heavy Storm
- Mystical Space Typhoon
- Nobleman of Crossout
- Torrential Tribute
- Mirror Force
- Ring of Destruction
These are cards you include in practically every deck. It is to your benefit to include them always, unless you have a specialized deck whose strategy makes one of these cards inherently disadvantageous or worthless.
Ah, and here are your pseudo-staples. These are cards that do not belong in every deck, yet have the potential to be freely splashed.
- D.D. Warrior Lady
- Premature Burial
- Call of the Haunted
Now, this is contested. You don't have to include those cards, but in some cases, they are highly effective.
As a sidenote, you notice cards like Smashing Ground, Cyber Dragon, and Sakuretsu Armor being used in most decks. It doesn't mean those cards are staples, it just means that they are splashable and can be freely put into those decks while contributing to that deck's overall strategy.
3) Have one theme
A theme is more or less your deck's primary idea, and what your deck strives to do in search of victory.
For the purposes of this discussion, I will use Spellcaster Flip Control as an example.
Now, before anything, you add your staples:
Monsters (2)
Tributes (0)
Non-Tributes (2)
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 Sangan
Spells (4)
1 Graceful Charity
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Nobleman of Crossout
Traps (3)
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring of Destruction
Now, note that some staples might become useless in certain decks. In this case, Nobleman of Crossout might prove deterimental to you via possibly removing some of your Flip Monsters. Whether to retain it is the choice of the player, but for the purposes of this discussion, they will be retained.
After adding the staples, we go to the meat of the deck. This deck revolves around Apprentice Magician, which can search several key aspects of this deck.
With the addition of two Apprentice Magician, the following can be added:
- 1 Magician of Faith
- 3 Old Vindictive Magician
Although Magician of Faith is a comfortable entry into most decks, it is very much supported by Apprentice Magician.
OVM provides removal, and is also supported by Apprentice Magician.
Since we're adding more Flips, we can add more support for them.
The following can be added:
- 1 Book of Moon
- 2 Ready for Intercepting
Book of Moon counters Smashing Ground, Sakuretsu Armor, as well as reusing your Flips.
Ready for Intercepting does the same thing in Trap form.
Let's look at the deck now:
Monsters (9)
Tributes (0)
Non-Tributes (8)
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 Sangan
2 Apprentice Magician
1 Magician of Faith
3 Old Vindictive Magician
Spells (5)
1 Graceful Charity
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Book of Moon
Traps (5)
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring of Destruction
2 Ready for Intercepting
So, we've established a solid Flip base. Magician of Faith provides Spells, Old Vindictive Magician gives you monster removal, and the rest is geared to support that.
Now that we've established the core of the deck, we can move outwards.
Notice the large amount of Spellcaster monsters. Due to this, Spellcaster support can be added to buffer them, as well as provide support.
Let's add:
- 1 Dark Magician of Chaos
- 1 D.D. Warrior Lady
- 3 Gravekeeper's Spy
- 1 Gravekeeper's Guard
- 3 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
- 3 Magical Dimension
Dark Magician of Chaos, GK Spy, GK Guard, and Kycoo are all well supported by Magical Dimension. GK Spy and GK Guard can provide MD fodder, and Kycoo and DMoC are good monster choices to bring out with MD. DDWL is a near staple, and gets rid of numerous threats.
Let's look at the deck:
Monsters (17)
Tributes (1)
1 Dark Magician of Chaos
Non-Tributes (16)
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 D.D. Warrior Lady
1 Sangan
2 Apprentice Magician
1 Magician of Faith
3 Old Vindictive Magician
3 Gravekeeper's Spy
1 Gravekeeper's Guard
3 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
Spells (8)
1 Graceful Charity
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Book of Moon
3 Magical Dimension
Traps (5)
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring of Destruction
2 Ready for Intercepting
And now we're up to 30 cards. The rest is largely filler.
Let's add:
- 3 Cyber Dragon
- 1 Asura Priest
- 1 Creature Swap
- 1 Enemy Controller
- 1 Pot of Avarice
- 2 Sakuretsu Armor
- 1 Ceasefire
The Cyber Dragons are beatsticks and fodder. 3 of them can go comfortably into nearly any deck.
Creature Swap can be added, as you have a horde of low attack Flips to swap as well as Asura Priest. Apprentice Magician can also be swapped, which enables you to gain a monster out of its destruction.
Enemy Controller has a decent amount of fodder to work with in this deck, and as such, can be added.
Avarice has plenty of fodder to work with, and is great for reusing Flips.
Sakuretsu Armor provides protection and removal.
Ceasefire is a nifty tech card that can protect your Flips, and deal a decent amount of damage to your opponent.
Monsters (21)
Tributes (4)
1 Dark Magician of Chaos
3 Cyber Dragon
Non-Tributes (17)
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 D.D. Warrior Lady
1 Sangan
2 Apprentice Magician
1 Magician of Faith
3 Old Vindictive Magician
3 Gravekeeper's Spy
1 Gravekeeper's Guard
3 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
1 Asura Priest
Spells (11)
1 Graceful Charity
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Book of Moon
3 Magical Dimension
1 Creature Swap
1 Enemy Controller
1 Pot of Avarice
Traps (8)
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring of Destruction
2 Ready for Intercepting
2 Sakuretsu Armor
1 Ceasefire
So, we have a 40 card deck, which is the standard.
Whatever tech options you want to include can be put in.
For instance, I could add two Exiled Force and one Last Will, as the former provides removal and the latter a combination option.
For my purposes, I would do that.
What you will do is ultimately up to you.
So, that's a short summary of building a theme, and the thoughts that go along with it.
4) Accept that in many cases, your favorite cards simply don't work
Many of you like using your favorite cards, whether it be Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, or Dark Magician in practically every deck.
Why? It's on the anime, it's popular, and looks big and powerful on the card.
Now, you have to understand that in most cases, those cards simply don't work.
Whether it's because it's too hard to bring out or it isn't worth it, those cards aren't worth playing.
So when someone tells you to take those cards out since they don't work, listen to them. Don't say, "It's Dark Magician! I'm not taking it out!". Listen to what they have to say and their logic in the matter.
5) No Vanilla monsters unless they are part of your theme
Vanilla monsters are monsters that have no effect.
I beg of you, don't use them. They serve no purpose. Beatsticks for the sake of beatsticks suck unless the beatstick has overpowering statistics.
The only time you should use them is BEWD in a BEWD deck, DM in a DM deck, REBD in a REBD deck, or the best of them all, a Justibreak deck.
If they're not a critical part of your theme, don't use them. There are always better options, period.
And anyway
That's what I have to say. I'll post more if I think of anything.
Follow my advice if you wish, or do not. If you follow my advice, you'll likely get help from better sources.
Do not, and you can continue to post decks here, blissfully ignorant of all the immense amount of thinking and strategy required in the best decks.
In any case, the choice is yours.

This is the casual forum. It is not strict AT ALL. No flaming will be done here. Period.
Ive seen alot of that coming from kratos. Saying decks suck and such. They are in the casual forum for a reason.
If it sucks so much that you cant handle it, leave the page. No flaming or saying they suck. In fact, if you cant handle it, itd be best that you dont come to this part of the forum. If they post a sucky deck in the competitive forum, THEN you can flame them and move their topic to casual. But dont chase them to casual and keep flaming.
Think of the casual decks forum, more of like, a Safe Zone. And the rules of the game say you cant get anybody in the safe zone.
Thanks for reading this. G'day.

This deck plays competitively, but as it has hardly any staples so i'm gonna post this in casual. Overextending the Crystal Monsters? It may appear so but it seems to work great so far. If i have loads then the chance of drawing one obviously increases so then i can use Abundance regularly, and each time is very close to an OTK. Anyway:

For the next round of the tournament I'm in, the format is: No Traps. Yeah. Just monsters and spells. So that's the reason why I'm posting this in Casual.
I'm up against the former champion of the forum, so -please- help as much as you can.
I've come up with three deck ideas:
Demise OTK, because there are no traps to counterattack. The Stone Excavation is there just in case I get a high-level INsect hand clog.
Gadget Aggro, with tons of spell support. Note that I'm not using Chirons, because there are no traps to destroy. And most likely any face-down cards are chainable.
Diamond Dude Turbo. With 20 or so Spells, there's plenty of abuse. 'Nuff said.

I've got all of the Neo-Spacians except, the new ones from Tactical Evolution and Air, Grand, and Glow Neos. I just have got no clue how to make a playable deck with them. (my Neos deck has never won a duel 0-8) So, plz... if you could... can you whip up a recipe. Traditional format, current ban list plz. Thanks.

after being away from the game for awhile, I got inspired to try to get back in. since my old deck is waay outdated, I went online and thought gadgets looked like something fun, and cheap, due to me having no income, that is a must. I was hoping one (or more) of you would be charitable enough to post a basic, budget gadget deck. I tried doing the search already, but the gadgets deck that are poster here always have something costly like cyber dragon, or DD assailant. I am hoping there are either cheap replacements, or ways to avoid needing them all together. so, anyone up for this easy challenge?
